Wash Day Routine Natural Hair

Posted by

For me, wash days can set me back on my growth progress and hair health. It makes me want to cut off all of my hair and rock a TWA. For life! Whether your hair is 3b or 4c wash day is time when many of us naturals and curlies struggle with our natural hair. In the video above, Wash Day Routine Natural Hair, SimplyHairtastic shares with us her process that helps reduce tangles and shedding. She gives a step by step walk through of her wash day process from start to finish. There is also a style suggestion at the end. Click the video above to check her out!

I prefer a wash day routine like the one in the video above. Quick, simple, and tear free. Jk, on the last part but you never know. Some grown people might still cry on hair day like they did as a kid. I hope not though lol. Repeat after me…It Is Not That Serious. Anyhows show this sista some love and check out her Wash Day Routine Natural Hair video.

Step 1: Pre-Poo

Step 2: Shampoo

  • Begin the shampoo process on sectioned hair to prevent unnecessary tangling
  • Wet the first section and lightly finger detangle under the running water
  • Add small amount of moisturizing shampoo and scrub scalp with fingertips
  • Rinse out shampoo while lightly finger detangling under the running water
  • Twist section out of the way
  • Repeat process on other sections all over your head

Step 3: Conditioning

  • After showering, use a spray bottle to lightly mist damp hair (optional)
  • Apply conditioner by sandwiching hair between hands (this spreads the conditioner evenly)
  • Detangle hair with tool of choice
  • Twist section out of the way
  • Repeat process on other sections all over your head

Step 4: Style

  • Place hair in protective style of choice like braids for a braid out or stretching
