Meek Mill is Protesting Lace Front Wigs Y’all 👀

It sounds like Meek Mill is getting sick and tired of the fake hair. He took to Twitter a several hours ago to voice his disapproval.

He basically said what we’ve been preaching about for a while on our YouTube Channel. Wigs and weaves are no good. But we say that from a place of concern because we know that wigs and weaves can cause balding. We can’t tell you where Meek Mill is coming from with his statement though.

His exact quote was that “Lace Front Wigs are wackk.” And “I’m protesting them.”

Now don’t get us wrong, wigs and weaves can make great protective styles. But you have to take good care of your hair underneath it for that to be the case. And, those women who can’t see themselves leave home without their tracks, need to be honest with themselves. Their wigs aren’t a protective style but a cover up of a deeper issue of low self esteem.

Many people were not in agreement with him and were throwing all kinds of shade. One person said “Mhm ok… if you still had them dusty braids that looked like locs we would protest that to 🤦🏾‍♀️ anyway #Teamnatural , but ima still wear my wigs as a protective style 🤷🏾‍♀️ I said what I said 😴.” That’s right girl, #Teamnatural all the way!

Length Check, Giveaway Winners, the Tea on Where We’ve Been, and More!

Where Has Chic LadyT Been?!

I know we went missing, so I thought I’d finally make a video on what happened. Chic Lady T put an event on in October and had to turn around and get ready for a Young Black Leadership Summit-YBLS right after. This was further complicated when I and the other attendees received an invitation to the white house from the president. So we were swamped with getting ready for all these things.

In the next series of videos, I will be spilling the tea on the Young Black Leadership Summit, Turning Point USA, and YouTuber Candace Owens. This channel will probably move in the direction of tea sipping on mainstream stories about blacks. TBH, I am reluctant to give any air time to the YBLS and the peoples involved because to me these political people are weirdos. And any attention, even negative attention, is good attention. But as I was personally there I will be putting in my two cents. Other than that I could care less. I am not interested in politics. I am straight up disgusted.

Change of Direction for Chic LadyT?

This video will also be speaking on ideas for the direction of this channel. We care about the black community so Chic LadyT would like to focus on our issues and black empowerment. That’s in addition to gossip and trending headlines. There would still be hair videos but they won’t be the main focus.

As for my hair, I do a quick length check in this video. After making this video, I trimmed off inches so it can be healthy. I want to cut it all off but I’m not that brave yet. We’ll see.

Congratulations to the giveaway winners! Please inbox us.

A Slim Countess Vaughn is Bald like Tamar Braxton, Big Chop Trend?

Big chop videos are always fun to watch. And for those of you who needed a little inspiration or a push to go for it, I think this just might be it. A slim Countess Vaughn from the Parkers is bald like Tamar Braxton! Is this becoming a big chop trend? Maybe these ladies were inspired by Wakanda. Press play above to find out my thoughts on the matter.

Quick Announcement,

Spring is in the air and I thought I’d share some discounts with you all. Kenneth Cole is having a big sale on their website KennethCole.com. In addition to the discounts they are already offering, take an extra 20% off when you use my link. Make sure you type in Promo Code: SHOP20. You get 20% off sitewide and free shipping on orders of $100 plus.

We use affiliate links. Here is our Full Disclosure.

Say Whaat?!

Instead of weaves and wigs, stars like Tamar Braxton and Countess Vaughn are now wearing their natural hair/bald heads! Countess Vaughn posted a picture of her on her Instagram without her wig and her comment section was on fire. Some showing hate. but there were many that also showed this sister some love. People were surprised no doubt, but this isn’t the first time she rocked the bald look. She has been speaking out about the problems of wigs and weaves for a long time. She has been vocal about how they made her loose all of her hair and caused a scalp infection. I say good for her! She looks great especially the color.

Maybe she was inspired to rock her bald head by Tamar who recently shocked all of social media with her big chop. And because I love Tamar, I’ve included a clip of a video that I attempted to make a about it.

My Verdict

All in all I find this to be a good thing, when these sistas with such huge influence are inspiring other black women to rock their natural hair. If you watched my last video, Who did this?! Weaves and Wigs cause balding natural hair transformations you will see the kind of damage that can be done with these air quotes “protective styles”. Once again, disclaimer I am not against wearing Weaves and Wigs but I am against unhealthy practices that some use such as gluing the install. If you can’t get away from the glue, then wear box braids or your own hair like these ladies. Looks like this is becoming the trend! What do you think? Is this a good thing that these women are doing this despite some of the backlash? Would you rock a bald head?

Giveaway Winner!!

Ok, so I didn’t forget about you guys and it’s time to announce the winners of this month giveaway. We actually have two. Watch the end of the video to find out who you are. The winners can contact us here or at the email listed on our YouTube Channel. After we verify it’s you, you will receive your cash prize. For everyone else. We do this every month so stay tuned.

Update:

Upon making this this video Countess Vaughn took one of the photos down.

Who Did This?! Weaves Severely Damage Hair | Amazing Hair Transformations

Imagine not wearing your hair for 5, 10, or 15 years because it’s been badly damaged by wigs and weaves. Feel the relief and freedom you will have when you finally rock your OWN hair that grows out of your OWN scalp for the first time in a decade. That’s probably how these women feel when they leave this salon. The Razor Chic of Atlanta Salon ain’t no ordinary beauty shop. The women go in with badly damaged hair and balding spots and leave out with amazing hair transformations. Press play above to see for yourself.

The owner Jasmine Collins aka RazorChic is a stylist located in Atlanta who restores people’s hair. And she is passionate about what she does. On her Instagram @TheOfficialRazorChic, she inspires others by posting her clients back stories and their before and after pictures. She offers products to help women grow their edges and balding spots. And she bashes the black hair industry for misleading and mis-educating people when it comes to wigs and weaves. (Quick disclaimer, I don’t think she has a problem with wigs and weaves but with the unhealthy way it’s being installed like gluing it to the scalp). Not only is she vocal about the issues in the black hair community, she is actively doing something about it. As you can see in this post where she says quote “on a mission to turn around the black hair industry.” I admire that as I am also on a mission, to help my sisters and brothers heal, grow, and succeed in every area of their life, starting with their hair.

Razor Chic offer online courses where she teaches her techniques to other stylist who may be interested. And she offers days where stylist can come in to shadow her. She is definitely doing it big. Just a few days ago her passion got her featured in the New York Times. Way to Go girl!

So even if your hair doesn’t need restoration, you couldn’t help but follow her because besides being very talented and successful she is also a Classy Chic Lady.

It’s time for this week spotlight on those beauty gurus who are shinning out there and Today it’s all about TheOfficialRazorChic, a stylist who is changing lives with her amazing hair transformations. See for yourself.

Who Said Black Hair Don’t Grow? Black Beauty Hair is Past Her Bum!

I hear it often when I go out. My white friends are curious as to how I grew my natural hair so long. They initially think my hair is weave but once I show them it isn’t they then ask me a host of questions. Like, how is it that my hair is long when most black women they see have very short or fake hair?

Now, many of my white friends have good intentions so no shade here. It’s just that They believe that because of the few black women they see have short or fake hair that African/Black hair don’t grow.

I then explain to them that “hair growth” is completely different from “length retention”. Some blacks use products and techniques that don’t work for their hair and break it off at a faster rate than it grows. If black hair didn’t grow they would never have to do touch ups on color or perms. I mean think about it, how come your nails are short? Is it because they don’t grow? No, it’s because they break. Once blacks receive the proper education on how to care for their hair and start using the correct products, their hair flourishes. As prime example with this black beauty.

It’s time for this week’s spotlight on those beauty guru’s who are shinning out there and today I want to show some love to a sister who locks are worth noticing and to the stylist who silk pressed it. The black beauty’s hair is to her bum. Her hair long, beautiful and healthy. She clearly has been taking care of it. Press play on the video above to see for yourself.

How I Silk Press my Long Natural Hair

I finally got around to Posting a video demonstrating how I silk press my long natural hair. Click on the link above to check it out.

I confess. I am the one who used to binge watch curly to straight natural hair routines on YouTube. (I say used to because my busy schedule does not afford me the luxury to do that anymore 😢). I enjoyed watching the beauty guru’s natural hair go from being shriveled up to super long. I would wait for the anticipated end results to see where their length is at. You never know who’s rocking long natural hair until they stretch it out. I’m telling you that the shrinkage is real. Many sisters have long hair and you wouldn’t know it. Either it’s hidden under wigs or it’s shrunken up in its natural state.

Most women go to the salon to get this look but I learned how to do it myself. It took much trial and error. The end result wasn’t always silky, shiny, and bouncy. And when it was, I couldn’t seem to repeat the outcome. Nonetheless, I have finally figured it out and have it down to a science. I decided to share my process with you in this tutorial. There is one disclaimer though: the video is outdated. I have perfected my silk press technique even more! But I still wanted to share this video with you anyway. I hope you enjoy. Thanks!

8 Ways to Rock A Headwrap/Turban

It’s getting cold outside and the air can do a number on my natural hair. I like how headwraps allows me to protect my delicate tresses while still looking cute. In the video, 8 Ways to Rock A Headwrap/Turban, these awesome ladies show us how they tie their headwrap. Click on the video above to check it out.

I’m boring when it comes to wrapping my headscarf. I do a low bun with a plain black scarf and go. But, in the video, the styles are versatile and the scarfs are bright. I love it! True African tradition with American flavor.

This protctive style is a definite go to in the winter months since it helps minimizing hair manipulation. And, I’m all about that! I say, go ahead and try the headwrap styles for yourself. They are quick and easy ties that anyone can do.  You can even email us your photos. I garentee your hair will thank you with longer, strong, beautiful locks. Don’t quote me on that lol.
